The AYAH is Australia’s first dedicated service for young people with life-limiting illness. The service provides patients with respite care, symptom management, end-of-life care, and step down from an acute hospital prior to discharge home. We provide holistic, specialised care for patients and their families, including bereavement support and counselling. It delivers care tailored to young people and their unique needs, provides dedicated and professional support for families, reduces the need for extensive travel for rural patients, and focuses on privacy, respite and recreation.

Where you'll be working
The AYAH is located in Manly on a portion of the former Manly Hospital site, on the North Head headland.
What you'll be doing
The Clinical Nurse Educator will be guided by the Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant in leading, developing, co-ordinated and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach in courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD.
The Clinical Nurse Educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes travelling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Holds AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence based practice, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
