This is not a remote working position and will be delivered fully on-site in Port Macquarie.
What you'll be doing
The MNC Virtual Care Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 2 will be responsible for expert clinical organisation, coordination, leadership, and consultancy services within the area of nursing specialty across multiple service groups, target populations, and health care professionals within MNCLHD. This is achieved under the provision of five domains: clinical service and consultancy, clinical leadership, education, research, and clinical services planning & management.
The CNC will work within MNC Virtual Care to provide clinicians with high-level clinical support and advice on appropriate treatment and access to specialist referral pathways. They will provide expert guidance on nursing care and support clinical decision-making through virtual modalities, offering recommendations that promote safe patient care progression and timely outcomes.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a fast-growing, future-focused service. The CNC will provide clinical oversight and guidance across a broad range of integrated programs, including Virtual Urgent Care, Early Supported Discharge, and ED hospital avoidance initiatives. The role also leads Central Intake and Aged Care Outreach Services, which deliver both virtual and face-to-face care.

About you, do you have?
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and post graduate qualifications with at least 3 years full time experience in the relevant field.
- A well-developed understanding virtual care and demonstrated understanding of the concepts of urgent care, hospital prevention and the complex requirements for patients at high risk of hospital presentation.
- Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical governance and leadership, and experience in the provision of education to peers, client’s and other service providers.
- Ability to work collaboratively and cultivate productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
