About the Role
Concord Repatriation General Hospital has a well-earned reputation for excellence in healthcare for over 70 years. Building on its proud heritage of caring for the Veteran community, the hospital now services the local communities of Concord, Strathfield, Burwood and beyond.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (Grade 1) - Priority Population Immunisation Project (PPIP), will provide expert consultancy in immunisation and play a critical role in enhancing immunisation services within Concord Hospital, ensuring priority populations receive equitable access to vaccinations. This role will support the PPIP program by:
- Identifying opportunities for vaccination within clinical services.
- Administering vaccinations in clinical services, such as outpatient clinics.
- Supporting clinical services to develop and implement sustainable models of care that embed vaccination or referral for vaccination as appropriate as a component of routine clinical care.
- Facilitating vaccination within clinical services by identifying and addressing barriers to immunisation and providing support during the process of service delivery change.
- Identifying services needs to ensure the immunisation interventions are delivered equitably among priority populations, such as providing access to translated resources.
- Collaborating with key staff to champion immunisation within clinical services, such as clinical nurse educators, diabetic educators, pharmacists and authorised nurse immunisers.
- Developing and delivering targeted education and training resources to staff supporting PPIP, to enable seamless implementation within clinical areas.
- Sharing resources to enable the development of protocols tailored to clinical areas, as required.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, including stakeholder engagement.
- Extensive clinical experience and strong decision-making skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities.
- Confidence in assessing and responding to immunisation needs in a variety of settings.
- Authorisation as a nurse immuniser would be viewed favourably.
