What you'll be doing

Clinical Engineer, Grade 1 - Medical Services Division is an engineering member within the Clinical Technology Service (CTS) of Northern Sydney Local Health District, consisting of engineering, technical, clinical and administrative staffs.
The role reports for daily operational activities to the  Senior Electronics Technician, Medical Services Division and for projects and professionally to the Senior Biomedical Engineer.
The role exists to provide engineering resource in the procurement, repairs, preventive maintenance, performance  verification, and risk management of medical equipment and systems to ensure patient safety and accuracy of treatment. 
This position is capable of working independently and as a team member, and will participate in special projects as authorised by the Senior Biomedical Engineer/Director of Clinical Technology Service.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply:
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Mechatonic Engineering, or requivalent from a recognised university or College of Advanced Education. Coursework background in electronic, electrical, Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent. (Qualification must be recognised by Engineers Australia)
  2. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in troubleshooting in design of electronic/computer equipment.
  3. Sound competency with using computers skill including database systems and office productivity software. Demonstrated knowledge of software principles, windows operating system and data network theory and application.
