As the Operations Nurse Manager you will lead, support, and manage CPH and PHU nursing, overseeing strategy, operations, finance, risk, and clinical care.

The Operations Nurse Manager will work with the Director – Centre for Population Health to provide leadership, support, strategic direction, operational management and corporate governance function for the Centre for Population Health (CPH), and with the Director – Public Health Unit to provide nursing management to the clinical nursing teams.
The Operations Nurse Manager is responsible for the administrative and business operations of the CPH as well as nurse management responsibilities for the Public Health Unit (PHU), with a direct reporting line to the Director – CPH and a dual reporting line to the Director - PHU responsible for the Public Health Unit service.
The range of responsibilities in this position are broad and will require independent as well as collaborative work to ensure the Manager is accountable, efficient and productive across a number of key performance areas including operations, stakeholder alliances, finance, performance, corporate risk and human resource management.
The Operations Nurse Manager will work with the CPH Leadership team (Director – PHU, Director – Health Promotion, Manager – Strategy, Planning and Engagement) to provide leadership, strategic direction and coordinate implementation of the CPH’s goals and objectives and will deliver practical and innovative strategies to manage risk, resolve complex problems, and improve the quality and performance of the CPH.
The Operations Nurse Manager is responsible for leading and managing the nursing teams of the Public Health Unit in the delivery of safe, efficient, effective and evidence based clinical services within the available resources, consistent with organisational, NSW Health, legislative & policy frameworks and values.
As a senior role in the organisation the position participates as part of the Nursing and Midwifery Management, including leadership and promoting consistent, values-based, effective and efficient clinical care supported by the Director of Nursing and Midwifery Integrated and Community Health.

Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills in the development of a positive workplace culture and system redesign, extensive management and leadership experience and the ability to motivate inspire and organise staff to achieve, along with proven extensive nursing management experience and the ability to manage a district wide service.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, allocate, and evaluate organisational and nursing resources, including finance and human resources; including evidence of and commitment to patient/community focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes and a proven ability to implement successful organisational change.
- Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation and problem- solving skills, within a large complex environment, with a proven track record in building rapport and establishing trust.
- Demonstrated highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and leadership and management skills with proven success in improving efficiencies, setting priorities, working in a high volume high demand environment and role, and established and achieving agreed objectives.
- Demonstration of organisational and professional outcomes along with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a management team.
- NSW Class C drivers license and willingness to use for work purposes.
