About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our Surgical Inpatient Unit at Wyong Hospital. This is a Monday to Friday role (7:30am–4:00pm) offering the opportunity to drive meaningful change and deliver exceptional care within a supportive and innovative environment.

As the NUM, you will take the lead in coordinating patient services, managing the daily operations of the unit, and guiding a dedicated team of nursing staff. You’ll be instrumental in upholding the Central Coast Local Health District’s (CCLHD) strategic vision of Trusted Care. Better Health for Everyone.

This pivotal role combines clinical leadership with operational management responsibilities, including:

  • Fostering a strong culture of safety, quality, and compassionate care
  • Overseeing patient flow and resource allocation
  • Driving improvements in patient experience and outcomes
  • Leading change and innovation across the unit
  • Managing staffing, budgets, and service delivery with efficiency and impact

About You

  • You are a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current AHPRA registration – plus a valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
  • You have extensive recent clinical experience in your specialty area, with strong knowledge of current nursing and midwifery practices.
  • You have proven leadership and team management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of guiding, supporting, and inspiring clinical teams.
