Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is proud to lead a new chapter in paediatric mental health care as the first district in New South Wales to implement the innovative Head to Health Kids Hub. This multidisciplinary service offers integrated, early-intervention support for children under 12 with emerging or established mental health and wellbeing needs.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Speech Pathologist to join this forward-thinking initiative and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, holistic care in a collaborative clinical environment.
About the Role:
This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team comprising medical officers, psychologists, allied health professionals, and early childhood development specialists. You will play a critical role in assessing and treating children with a range of developmental, communication, and behavioural needs, applying a stepped care approach supported by validated assessment tools.
Key responsibilities include:

Independently managing a paediatric caseload and delivering tailored interventions.

Conducting comprehensive, evidence-based assessments using a bio-psycho-socio-cultural framework.

Collaborating with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.

Supervising and supporting the development of junior staff and students.

Leading service evaluation initiatives and contributing to clinical research where required.

Upholding best-practice standards in line with Speech Pathology Australia guidelines and organisational policy.

About You:

Current membership and practising certification with Speech Pathology Australia.

Extensive experience working with children in clinical settings, including complex case management.

Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and caseload management skills.

A proactive approach to service development and continuous quality improvement.

A commitment to ongoing professional education and supervision.
