What you'll be doing 
Bring your passion for data, leadership and impact to a pivotal role in cancer care. We're looking for an inspiring and detail-driven professional to lead cancer data services across the Sydney West Cancer Network. Key responsibilities:

  • Champion cancer data quality, reporting and registry compliance
  • Lead a skilled team supporting Westmead, Blacktown, Auburn & Mt Druitt
  • Drive education, training and continuous improvement in data practices
  • Use your coding, analytics and leadership skills to inform better care
  • Collaborate across disciplines to shape cancer outcomes in WSLHD

You are a strong and inspiring leader with a sharp eye for data accuracy, a passion for information management, and a commitment to improving cancer care through reliable reporting. You’ll be a confident team manager who can guide and motivate others, with the ability to balance big-picture thinking with detailed oversight. Your communication and training skills will shine as you coach staff in data quality, cancer registration, and reporting systems. You are proactive, organised, and resilient — able to manage multiple priorities, meet regulatory deadlines, and foster effective collaboration across clinical and non-clinical teams. A natural relationship builder, you’ll engage with stakeholders across WSLHD and beyond, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll also be someone who thrives on learning, stays current with oncology data trends, and leads quality, safety, and risk initiatives with confidence. Above all, you embody WSLHD’s CORE values and lead by example — creating a culture of excellence, respect, and continuous development.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in health information management, management or other relevant qualifications, and/or relevant work experience in a cancer health information management role as well as Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  2. Commitment to and experience in the planning and implementation of targeted staff training and education programs. 
  3. Experience in clinical data analysis, clinical coding and report development with the ability to learn and apply cancer coding and staging standards and rules.
