About the opportunity
Bring your asset management expertise to a meaningful and strategic leadership role with NSW Health Pathology. As our Asset Manager, you’ll take charge of implementing the NSW Government’s Asset Management Strategy across a diverse and critical portfolio of health infrastructure, equipment, and facilities. This is your opportunity to shape long-term planning, improve operational performance, and directly impact the quality of healthcare delivery through strategic insights and lifecycle management of essential assets.
In this permanent, full-time role, you’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Ministry of Health to drive data accuracy, optimise asset planning processes, and strengthen contract and maintenance outcomes. You’ll lead a small team and work at the forefront of asset innovation, championing effective asset performance reporting, capital forecasting, and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks. What you'll be doing
This is an exciting role with the opportunity to improve strategic insight over the asset fleet supporting better asset management and long term asset planning - a chance to make a real difference.
The Asset Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the NSW Government Asset Management Strategy including the Asset Management Plan and Strategic Asset Management Plan for NSW Health Pathology. The functions of the role will be carried out in compliance with relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive work experience and capability in providing asset management planning at a senior level as well as an understanding of financial principles that apply to asset management
- Demonstrated strong strategic, organisational, planning and time management skills with the capacity to successfully meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills, experience in preparing high level comprehensive reports and a proven ability to develop effective working relationships with direct reports and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, liaise and negotiate with senior executives, clinicians, managers and staff in pathology services and/or local health districts, and in other government and non-government agencies
- Ability to exercise independent initiative to solve problems and risks, and demonstrated sound judgment and discretion when dealing with contentious issues and competing demands.
- Proven proficiency in using PC based software including an advanced level of proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel essential).
