About the role:
The Child Wellbeing Unit at Wallsend is a small, tight-knit, and highly effective team within Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN). We operate as a single, collaborative unit, committed to delivering exceptional service and improving outcomes for children at risk.

As an Assessment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in:

  • Assisting health care professionals to identify child protection risks and respond with appropriate interventions
  • Determining when reports are required to the Child Protection Helpline
  • Supporting the development of service plans and facilitating referrals
  • Promoting information sharing and liaising with key partner agencies
