Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.  What you'll be doing


To ‘shadow assess’ the funding needs of all new and current residential aged care recipients using the new Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) tool.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications - Bachelor in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Nursing

Registration -  Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist

Selection Criteria

  1. Current unrestricted registration (general registration only, excludes limited registration) with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist
  2. Demonstrate evidence of clinical experience, as defined by the award definitions, delivering services in aged care settings and/or to aged persons (such as geriatric evaluation, rehabilitation, palliative care, community nursing), including to people living with dementia
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  4. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  5. Demonstrated ability to utilise problem solving skills and a multidisciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and coordination of services
  6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
  7. An understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal social, cultural and economic issues; a capacity to flexibly develop local responses to community needs; and cross cultural communication skills
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
