- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
- Commitment to completion of a Certificate IV – Allied Health Assistance qualification within a two year timeframe.
- Ability to communicate effectively – both verbal and written.
- Capacity to assist in treatment and non-treatment activities or groups under the direction of an Allied Health Professional.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- An understanding of Aboriginal cultural competency and community protocols.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft office applications, including basic MS Word and Excel.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
