About the Opportunity
The Community Older Persons Intervention and Liaison Outreach Team (COPILOT) is a dynamic and exciting service that provides rapid access to multi-disciplinary geriatric assessment (medical, nursing, and allied health) for older people living in the community setting. Referral enables care to be implemented in the patient’s home environment, avoiding unnecessary transfer to hospital, and leading to improved patient outcomes.

 

What You'll be Doing
The Allied Health Assistant will provide a high quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional to optimise health outcomes and support clients keeping well in the community. The Allied Health Assistant is also responsible for undertaking designated departmental and administrative tasks necessary to support service delivery.

SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  1. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or relevant qualification or Minimum 12 months full-time equivalent relevant experience with commitment to undertake the Certificate IV in AHA within 12-month period.
  2. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional
  3. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels.
  4. Demonstrated good organisational skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
