Join our passionate team at the Refugee Health Service. You will work closely with the Senior Occupational Therapist to provide high quality clinical care to newly arrived refugees living with a disability. The work will involve home visits, demonstrating equipment set up and maintaining the equipment pool and assisting with group activities.
We are seeking a person with great organisational skills, who is a great team player and enjoys working in a multicultural environment.
What You'll be Doing
To provide a high quality clinical service to clients and their families/carers from a refugee background under the supervision of an Allied Health Professional at the NSW Refugee Health Service. The position will provide support to clients of the Refugee Health Service with complex needs, including newly arrived refugees living with a disability needing equipment. The position will also be conducting home visits across metropolitan Sydney.
Under the supervision of the Senior Occupational Therapist you will provide support to refugee clients with complex needs and their families. The role will be responsible for ordering equipment and maintaining the equipment loan pool and delivering equipment to families. You will also assist in the development of resources and organising and conducting group activities.

- Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or other relevant qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills, ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office including management of emails, word processing and database management.
- Commitment to social justice, and to the issues of access and equity in health.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
