Where you'll be working
Community Aged Care and Rehabilitation Service (CAReS) Ryde Hospital

What you'll be doing
As an AHA in the team you will support a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social workers, Dietitians and Speech pathologists in delivering services to the aged community of Ryde and Hunters Hill LGAs. You will assist in providing both group and individual treatment programs empowering aged clients to maintain independence and improve quality of life.
Job share will be considered for suitable applicants.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant within a large organisation. Ability to work independently under the delegation of an AHP and the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
  3. A minimum of a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake this training or other qualification deemed equivalent by NSLHD.
  4. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
  5. Identify skills and knowledge in the provision of assistant's activities to provide support for, AHPs, clients, families and carers as required.
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising AHP.
  7. Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Currently hold a Class C Drivers Licence
