Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital is an acute hospital that supports a population of approximately 80,000 and is the only ANZAC Memorial hospital remaining in NSW. Easily accessible to Sydney residents, our team of clinicians, allied health, and support staff works with the community on a shared goal to maintain the delivery of high-quality healthcare in the Blue Mountains region.

 

An opportunity has become available for qualified Nurse Manager Grade 2 to join the Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital team.


The After-Hours Nurse Manager is responsible for the Operational Management and support of Blue Mountains and Springwood Hospitals After Hours Service through efficient and effective management of resources particularly those allocated to Nursing and Midwifery Services.

Your role as the Nurse Manager Grade 2 will be a Leader and have interpersonal skills demonstrating motivation, delegation, negotiation and knowledge with clinical experience of evidence based acute health assessment, treatment and care.
The successful candidate will have ability to provide leadership, manage resources and drive change effectively with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Relevant tertiary qualification in management and/or extensive post-graduate clinical and management experience in the acute health care setting
  3. Leadership and interpersonal skills demonstrating motivation, delegation, negotiation and knowledge with clinical experience of evidence based acute health assessment, treatment and care.
  4. Proven ability to provide leadership, manage resources and drive change effectively with a demonstrated commitment to professional development
  5. Computer literacy including working knowledge of staff scheduling systems Pro-Act
  6. Understanding of and commitment to EPT, bed management/patient flow objectives in an acute health setting, with the ability to resolve complex problems in a timely manner and demonstrate knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems to support bed management and Patient Flow
  7. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage complex, competing and challenging situations, including clinical and corporate risk in a timely manner plus Human Resource management abilities including an understanding of industrial relations and associated processes and procedures
  8. High level verbal and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and lead organisational change in patient care, with knowledge of current nursing practice at a local, national and international level
