Mona Vale Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our After Hours Nurse Manager team. It is an exciting opportunity to join a team that provides senior leadership across the site.

What you'll be doing
The After Hours Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational, clinical and resource management of a defined set of services as delegated from the Director of Nursing and Midwifery. This position is pivotal in providing support to and in the absence of Nursing Unit Managers and the Deputy Director of Nursing.
The incumbent in this position is accountable for the operational management of the hospital after hours. This will be achieved through the application of strong leadership, sound analytical and negotiation skills. The After Hours Nurse Manager (AHNM) will have a well-developed ability to work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve efficient and effective patient flow and use of human resources with the organisation. The incumbent will have proven communication and interpersonal skills will be supportive in the implementation of management decisions and will be committed to improving performance.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse – Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Holds or working towards relevant postgraduate tertiary qualifications in leadership/management or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Leadership and interpersonal skills demonstrating motivation, delegation, negotiation and knowledge with clinical experience of evidence based acute health assessment, treatment and care.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage complex, competing and challenging situations, including clinical and corporate risk in a timely manner plus Human Resource management abilities.
- High level verbal and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to act as a change agent and lead organisational change in patient care and service delivery.
- Outline previous experience related to managing a facility after hours.
