What you'll be doing
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Speech Pathology team as a full time permanent Adult Speech Pathologist. The role is rotational (12 months in each) and will initially be working in the neuro outpatient and stroke unit stream, responsible for managing a combination of inpatients and outpatients presenting with communication and/or swallowing difficulties. The other two rotations are inpatient rehabilitation/outpatient neuro and acute inpatient/general outpatient caseloads. All positions participate in LSVT. All positions are required to flex to other clinical areas if the need arises. There is opportunity for instrumental assessment including VFSS and FEES. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Current and unrestricted NSW drivers licence (P2 licence acceptable).
- Experience in the assessment and management of adult swallowing and communication difficulties within an acute, rehab and outpatient setting. Experience in voice and provision of LSVT.
- Evidence of participation in Speech Pathology professional development and able to demonstrate how this has improved clinical practice relevant to this role.
- Experience in quality improvement activities that focus on Speech Pathology service quality or development.
