An experienced and enthusiastic Speech Pathologist is sought to join the Hornsby Hospital Speech Pathology team in a Sunday-Tuesday Level ½ position that is available from 1st July 24. Sunday penalties apply.

What you'll be doing

The Speech Pathologist would be the sole Speech Pathologist on the Sunday providing services across all hospital caseloads. The staff member would be well oriented before being expected to independently work solo on Sunday’s and remote support is available moving forward as needed. On the Monday-Tuesday, the role would be working within the acute team that provides services across gen med, cardiac respiratory, dementia and delirium, surgical wards, ED and ICU. Opportunities for VFSS and FEES are available. The staff member will also participate in our outpatient Parkinson’s disease caseload with delivery of the LSVT program. Student supervision is also a possibility. Anyone interested is encourage to call to discuss the position. This recruitment may be used for other part time vacancies in the department.

 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  2. Experience in the assessment and management of swallowing difficulties in an acute hospital setting managing patients presenting with range of different aetiologies.
  3. Experience in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing difficulties in an inpatient or outpatient setting, including LSVT.
