The Role
The purpose of this position is to provide reception and administrative support to staff, patients and visitors of the Respiratory &Sleep Department.
The Administration Officer coordinates outpatient clinic bookings and provides a range of administrative and clerical support services to enable the Respiratory &Sleep Department to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner.
The Administration Officer will have the ability to work independently and within a team environment, take initiative as necessary and liaise with internal and external referrers.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with a positive attitude.
- Previous experience in an administrative role providing a range of front-line reception, administrative and clerical support services.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in responding to a range of enquiries and ability to determine the appropriate response in a complex environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills including high attention to detail, ability to prioritise workloads while meeting strict deadlines to ensure efficient clinics.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft applications and knowledge of iPM and eMR and/or willingness to learn and previous experience with Medicare billing/PBRC program highly regarded or wiliness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take responsibility for role specific duties and deadlines.
- Thorough understanding of patient and staff confidentiality.
