What you'll be doing

As part of the Aboriginal Specialist Wellbeing Service a focus on working with Aboriginal consumers and families to deliver culturally safe and appropriate mental health and alcohol and other drug support across the lifespan which positively contributes to social and emotional wellbeing and broader determinants of health for individuals, families and communities.

This position will continue to develop the Aboriginal Mental Health workforce in Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) and the successful applicant will be required to undertake a 3 year undergraduate program which currently includes 3 residential blocks per year. 
Set on the banks of the mighty Macleay River, Kempsey was originally established as a timber and dairy hub and retains many of its historic buildings as a vestige of its past. Home to two great Australian icons – country music legend Slim Dusty, and the Akubra hat, which has been made in the town for the past 50 years – Kempsey is surrounded by national parks and just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Macleay Valley Coast.

Salary will be accordance with NSW Health State Awards for the advertised classification/s.  These awards are available at http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/careers/conditions/pages/default.aspx.

A TALENT POOL MAY BE CREATED FOR FUTURE ROLES AND WILL REMAIN VALID FOR 18 MONTHS.
