Aboriginal Health Practitioner - Community Health Care (Male identified)

Selection Criteria to be Addressed: 

1. This is a male Aboriginal Identified position. Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District considers that being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent to be a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW. Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
2. Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care Practice and is registered as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
3. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the health issues and key polices that impact on Aboriginal Community across NBMLHD. Including grief and loss, intergenerational trauma, child protection, domestic violence, substance abuse and the burden of chronic illness.
4. Demonstrated experience in conducting clinical responsibilities under the supervision and direction of a registered/regulated health professional.
5. Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills and basic computer skills
7. Current NSW State driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
