About the role
We are looking for dedicated individual to join our highly skilled Wardsperson operations team, where patient safety and wellbeing are our top priorities.

As a Wardsperson, you will play a vital role in the healthcare by:

  • Maintaining a safe, efficient environment by supporting patient hygiene
  • Transporting patients between wards, theatres, and imaging departments
  • Facilitating the movement of equipment and supplies across departments.
  • Responding promptly to incidents and emergencies
  • Implementing proactive Wardsperson practices to enhance patient care

 All required training and education will be provided to ensure your success in this vital role.

How we will support you

You will be supported every step of the way with a dedicated Training Officer to guide you through your initial training phase with ongoing support from Wardsperson Operations Team and Senior Wardsperson to ensure you feel confident in your role.
Throughout your journey, you will receive comprehensive education and support including progress assessments, with valuable opportunities to learn from a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical staff.



Essential Requirements

Ability to work shifts within a 7 Day rotating roster and willingness to work across other locations within the Hunter New England Local Health

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent full or part time and temporary full or part time vacancies.
