War Memorial Hospital Casual Pharmacist- UWMH
War Memorial Hospital (WMH) is a 3rd Schedule Aged Rehabilitation hospital, situated in Waverley, owned and operated by Uniting and part of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). Services are comprised of 24 hour inpatient care, Monday to Friday outpatient departments, several specialist community teams inclusive of Transitional Aged Care, Aged Care Assessment Team, Geriatric Flying Squad, Young Onset Dementia, 7 day a week day centre, 24 hour accommodation service for regional guests and the full range of hospital support services. It is set within beautiful tranquil grounds and is a well-supported team environment.
The casual pharmacist is responsible for the provision of flexible pharmacy services at the War Memorial Hospital consistent with Uniting, NSW Health and South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably skilled candidate to join the War Memorial Hospital as a casual pharmacist to provide high quality and patient focused pharmacy services. The casual pharmacist is responsible for the dispensing and distribution of inpatient and discharge medications in accordance with NSW Health policy, counselling and educating patients and/or their carers regarding their medications, and management of the procurement and storage of medications in accordance with legal requirements as required.

Selection Criteria:
- Current Pharmacy Registration with AHPRA without restrictions
- Extensive experience in provision of pharmacy services and clinical pharmacy in a hospital setting (minimum 3 years), with exposure to rehabilitation and aged care
- High level experience using health information systems such as iPharmacy, the eMR, and other computer systems
- Proven high-level interpersonal, written, computer and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate across all levels and departments with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated high level of organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to practice autonomously with minimal supervision and proven attention to detail and accuracy in undertaking all tasks
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature
Evidence of participation in accreditation processes such as National Standards, and contribution to quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
