John Hunter Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our dynamic team, delivering safe, effective, evidence based care across inpatient, outpatient and on-call settings.
What you’ll do
- Provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist cardiothoracic services that are safe, effective and patient centred
- Participate in regular ward rounds, clinical handover, consultations and surgical cases
- Supervise and education undergraduate and postgraduate staff across the multidisciplinary team
- Engage in clinical governance, risk management and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Support research activity and promote the translation of evidence into practice
What we’re looking for
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of RACS and/or overseas trained specialist pathways
- Recent and comprehensive experience in cardiothoracic surgery
- A commitment to teamwork, clinical leadership and quality patient outcomes
- Desirable: interest/training in Thoracic Surgery, minimally invasive procedures, experience introducing new techniques, and a strong academic or research background
