About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in the Trauma and Acute Surgery (TACS) Unit to step into the role of a Trauma Case Manager. This is a temporary part-time position focusing on supporting trauma services after hours, working closely with the multidisciplinary trauma team to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
In this pivotal role, you’ll combine advanced clinical expertise with leadership and innovation to drive excellence in trauma nursing. You’ll work collaboratively across disciplines to elevate patient outcomes, support staff development, and lead continuous improvement in trauma services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the continuum of care for trauma patients, particularly during after-hours presentations.
- Liaise closely with the Emergency Department and attend trauma team activations to support effective care delivery.
- Collaborate with trauma medical and nursing teams, sharing critical patient information to anticipate, prevent, or minimise delays or complications.
- Monitor pre-hospital triage and provide timely feedback to pre-hospital care providers.
- Contribute to trauma education rounds and teaching, support patient and carer education, and assist in the preparation of trauma death summaries.
- Collect trauma registry data and promote the use of trauma clinical pathways and evidence-based guidelines.

Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of the employees specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
