Ryde Hospital is currently undergoing an exciting $479 million Redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community. The Redevelopment will result in new and enhanced health facilities and services including emergency, critical care, inpatient, community, ambulatory care services and more. What you'll be doing
Recruiting for below positions.
3 positions that encompass 4 months anaesthetics, 8 months ICU
2 positions that encompass 3 months anaesthetics, 9  months ICU

 
The primary purpose of the position is to manage patients requiring anaesthetic and intensive care, those at risk of clinical deterioration requiring intensive care, plus pre- and post-intensive care evaluation, as directed and overseen by supervising consultants; while developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.   
Critically ill patients include patients with life-threatening single and multiple organ system failure, those at risk of clinical deterioration as well as those requiring resuscitation and/or management in an intensive care unit. Trainees in unaccredited positions in the Anaesthetic /Intensive Care Departments work under supervision, assisting to manage, diagnose and treat the disturbances associated with severe medical, surgical, obstetric and paediatric illness and the conditions that cause them. This may include management of deteriorating and seriously ill patients outside the intensive care unit as well as the intra-hospital transport of critically ill patients. The anaesthetic unaccredited trainee provides anaesthetic services to all surgical and procedural specialties operating at Ryde Hospital, including preoperative assessment and consultation. Anaesthetic staff provide an acute pain service to patients in the hospital, in addition to support for resuscitation, after hours onsite cover for the ICU and wards, and a central venous access service. 
When rostered in the capacity of the overnight ICU Night Trainee the anaesthetic unaccredited trainee will be the most senior medical officer rostered on site overnight at Ryde Hospital, with the responsibility for providing medical management to patients across the hospital.

  2. Adept ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams, including the sharing of appropriate information internally and externally with key persons or services
  3. Adept ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
  4. Adept verbal, written and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to vary communication style in line with the understanding of the needs of diverse audiences
  5. Adept ability to prioritise workloads and display a flexible approach to meet changing situations in a demanding and unpredictable clinical environment
  6. Commitment to participating in training and development opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the area of intensive care medicine
  7. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
