What you'll be doing
To provide anaesthetic services including pre-admission clinic, operating theatre, post anaesthetic care and pain management, consultation services and epidural service for Birth Unit. Attend life support and cardiac arrest calls.
Work in the department of anaesthesia as the anaesthetic trainee (well supervised and ANZCA accreditable).
Participate in the night and weekend anaesthetic off site onall roster (excellent consultant support and supervision) on a 1 in 5 basis. Participate in assessment investigation and preparation of patients for anaesthesia/surgery in the Pre-Admission Clinic, emergency and other areas of the hospital as required.

- • MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category
- • A minimum of 3 (thee) full years of postgraduate experience
- • Current registration or intended registration with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists as a Basic Trainee.
- • Competence in cannulation, basic airway management, interpretation of blood and blood gas results. Basic life support skills expected. Advanced life support skills and EMST attendance advantageous.
- • Ability to participate in a 1 in 5 on call roster, which involves off site call-backs nights and weekends. Must live within 20-30 minutes of the hospital.
- • Recent Australian experience in anaesthetics, critical care a, HDU or ICU
- • Good oral and written communication skills
- • Research activity or interest
