This position is provided by Mid North Coast Local Health District, but the role is based in Northern NSW Local Health District.

This is a registrar position and is suitable for applicants who are enrolled in the sexual health medicine training programme (RACP), or GP registrars who wish to complete their advanced skills training in sexual health, or fellowed GPs who wish to gain advanced skills in sexual health medicine. 

This position is advertised as 1 full time position, but it can be taken as part-time. This position can be fulfilled at either Lismore Sexual Health Service or Tweed Valley Sexual Health Service, or both, depending on the successful applicant(s) location, preference, and ability to travel, balanced with service needs.

What you'll be doing
This position is for a trainee in sexual health medicine and is available for up to 12 months of training. Non trainees who wish to gain a year of experience in sexual health medicine may also apply. The position is accredited as a training position with the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. The position is also accredited for extended skills training in sexual health medicine with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

  1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role.
  2. Ability to make sound clinical judgements in line with level of experience and also utilising the advice and support of senior staff
  3. Proven ability to apply clinical knowledge and concepts to practical situations and work independently in a complex clinical environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Commitment to ongoing professional education and development, including commitment to undertake courses relevant to sexual health medicine (e.g. ASHM HIV s100 prescriber course; ASHM STI course).
