What you'll be doing
This position involves supporting laboratory research through technical tasks, data generation, and equipment management.
Your key responsibilities will have you:
- Conducting laboratory investigations and technical tasks following established procedures.
- Contributing to research data collection and manuscript generation.
- Preparing materials and maintain lab equipment.
- Ensuring adherence to laboratory protocols.
- Supporting overall laboratory operations and team efforts.

- Qualification: Certificate IV in Pathology or Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of molecular biology and/or virology, including practical laboratory experience (e.g. nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing) and experience handling clinical specimens.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and competing priorities.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and proven effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators.
- Proven computer literacy skills in Windows and the Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
