$55.09 - $67.15 per hour + 11.5% super & salary packaging | Temporary Part Time 32 hours per week | Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS), District Wide | REQ568571 | Grade: Social Worker Level 4, Clinical Psychologist | Applications close: 29 April 2025

 

This is a temporary leave relief position until 28 June 2026 with the possibility of extension.

The CPCS's overarching purpose is to work towards the recovery and ongoing safety and wellbeing of children involved with the care and protection system. CPCS works with infants, children and young people, and their families and carers where it has been determined the children are at risk of significant harm due to physical, emotional, psychological abuse, exposure to domestic violence and/or neglect has occurred. The service aims to assist children recover from violence, abuse and/or neglect, and support them to achieve safety, security and permanency. Therapeutic work may involve a combination of individual, dyadic, family therapy and group work. In addition to direct therapy with children and families, CPCS provides consultation and training to support other parts of the service system to contribute to the overall therapeutic outcomes for the child and their family/carers where child protection issues are present.

Working collaboratively within the PARVAN Clinical Leadership team and with guidance from the Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for the management, supervision and professional development of CPCS Counsellors across the Illawarra Shoalhaven, and oversees the provision of timely, effective and high quality counselling and support services.
