About the role
The Student Midwife works within a supported environment to complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery under the supervision of a Registered Midwife.  Midwives provide quality midwifery care to mothers and their babies that reflect current standards of midwifery practices and current Western NSW Local Health District CORE values.

Dubbo Hospital, in the Centre of NSW, has a large rural maternity service (Level 5), supporting between 1300-1400 women from Dubbo and surrounding communities to birth each year.

Our Midwives are supported by a Midwifery Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Specialists and Midwifery Educators.  In addition to this we have a supportive multidisciplinary team including Obstetricians, Paediatricians, Allied Health and Aboriginal Health professionals to ensure we provide woman-centred care.
