The Role

The Sterilisation Technician is responsible for providing clean, sterile or disinfected items and/or equipment to all stakeholders with in the  St George Hospital &Community Services.
Preparation of daily operations and stock control in operating suite sterile stock areas  
Reprocessing of flexible endoscopes in dedicated scope room with in the endoscopy unit.

Selection Criteria

  1. Willingness to obtain a Sterilising Services Certificate III with in two years
  2. Basic understanding of the workings of Sterilising Department and/or Sterile Storage Areas
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills
  5. Demonstrated commitment providing a quality service in workplace practices & procedures
  6. Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team with the ability to work independently
  7. Moderate computer skills
  8. Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster (including night shift)
