The Sterilising Department at Royal North Shore Hospital is looking for two experienced people to join our team of dedicated sterilising technicians.

What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the sterilisation technician position is to provide thermally disinfected and sterile reusable medical devices to all areas for use in patient care, in accordance with policies and procedures developed by Sterilising Services Management.
To work in all areas of the Sterilising Services to maintain the high standards in all processes involved with sterilisation and other procedures performed within the unit as well as acknowledging the service contribution to patient care.
The reprocessing of reusable Medical Devices (RMD’s) used in Health Services Organisations, (HSO’s) adhering to AS/NZS 4187:2014.
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Completion of an accredited Certificate in Sterilisation Technology at TAFE.
- Experience in a sterilising department environment.
Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen and undertake direction.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Workplace Health & Safety, and principles of Infection Control.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of patients and staff, at all times.
