We are seeking fully qualified Emergency Physicians to join our team. The department is led by a group of committed FACEMS (4.5FTE) including a full time Clinical Director.
• New state of the art Emergency Department (ED) that provides direct patient care, clinical supervision of Junior Medical Officers and assistance with the management of ED services
• Manning Hospital has a busy ED seeing in excess of 33,000 presentations p.a., 30-35% admission rate and 20% Paediatric case load. The ED has 2 resus bays, 14 acute beds (2 paediatric), 5 consult rooms, 1 mental health room and 1 isolation room. There are also plans to establish an ED short stay unit
• Manning Hospital serves the local communities of Taree, Forster, Tuncurry and surrounding districts
• The ED is currently unaccredited for Emergency Medicine training but efforts are in place to ensure this in the years to come
• Manning Hospital has 160 beds including 20 mental health  beds and provides a good range of specialist services including Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Intensive Care Medicine, Anaesthesia, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Renal and Oncology Services
Taree is located on the Lower Mid North Coast of NSW, just 3 hours north of Sydney, 2 hours north of Newcastle and 1 hour south of Port Macquarie. The hospital serves a population of around 100,000 people and encompassing an area of 3,732 km2. The Manning Valley is home to some of the best beaches in Australia. The area is surrounded by magnificent national parks .
  1. Medical degree registrable in NSW and Fellowship of the ACEM or equivalent specialist qualification in Emergency Medicine or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award or Health Insurance Act (1973).
  2. Demonstrated performance in the provision of Emergency Medicine Services.
  3. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team member.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and post graduate education.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to a patient focused service, including commitment to safely fulfil the goals of the organisation, including the NEAT.
  6. Commitment to working within a multidisciplinary team.
  7. Experience working in a department with significant paediatric activity.
  8. Computer literacy.
