Staff Specialist - Gynaecology - Paediatric Adolescent Gynaecology - The Royal Hospital for Women

- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA). Candidate to provide on application AHPRA Registration Number.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and/or equivalent Gynaecological requirement: Experience in managing paediatric and adolescent gynaecological conditions. Demonstrated training in laparoscopic gynaecology surgery. Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of procedures, including, but not limited to advanced laparoscopic gynaecology surgery and able to manage gynaecological conditions consistent with the training and scope of practice of a benign gynaecologist. This may include the ability to perform a peripartum hysterectomy.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of high-quality public service including compliance with relevant public sector policies and clinical practices. Demonstrated commitment to ensuring public resources and services are primarily for the access of public patients.
- Demonstrated commitment and active contribution to safety and quality programs and activities including understanding and compliance with the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards. Active participation in appropriate peer review / morbidity and mortality meetings consistent with best practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated commitment to and current experience in formal and informal teaching and supervision of junior medical officers and the broader multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated professionalism as expected of a Senior Medical Practitioner including role modelling an ethical behaviour, accountability and the CORE values. Demonstrated ability and willingness to comply with organisational mandatory training / education requirements.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to collaborate and partner with women in their health care to ensure informed decision making and a person-centred approach to care provision.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work flexibly and cooperatively with the hospital to ensure effective public service provision, including participating in the on-call roster and attending handovers when requested. Willingness to ensure public duties are not compromised by individual private commitments.
