The Role

The AIN provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse; Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse; Assist the Registered and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed; Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required; Communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol.

Selection Criteria
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Descriptor: Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) or Nursing Undergraduate second year and above.
- Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated previous experience within an acute care facility.
