About the Opportunity
We are looking for a talented sonographer with an interest in obstetric and gynaecological imaging to join our clinical research team in the Fetal Medicine Unit at Liverpool Hospital.

As part of our expansion of ultrasound services for pregnant women we are engaged in a number of research and clinical implementation studies to ensure that women living in SWSLHD have access to high quality imaging throughout their pregnancy.

Current areas of focus include provision of a comprehensive first trimester (11-13 week) screening service and the development of risk algorithms predicting poor outcomes in the third trimester of pregnancy.

This post provides an opportunity to develop specialist skills and to learn about and participate in clinical research. There is the potential to define your own unique research project with a view to completing a postgraduate degree and to be involved in multidisciplinary teaching.

What You'll be Doing
A Research Sonographer will coordinate and conduct the SWS Obstetric Research Unit Ultrasound Imaging within SWSLHD. They will promote clinical research in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, specifically but not exclusively in relation to obstetric and gynaecological imaging. They will assist with the dissemination of research findings in appropriate forums through publication and presentation at national and international research conferences.
