The Adolescent Service for Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service is based at Prince of Wales Hospital, it is a multidisciplinary community team providing a full range of mental health services to adolescents and their families.

The successful applicant will be a Social Worker, Level 3, who has experience and expertise in assessment and treatment of young people with complex mental health problems and high risk behaviour.

  1. Tertiary Qualification in Social Work and eligibility for Membership of AASW.
  2. Senior practitioner level experience in providing assessments, evidence based therapeutic interventions and case management with adolescents and their families/caregivers.
  3. Extensive specialist knowledge of adolescent mental health; complex trauma; crisis intervention and bereavement.
  4. Advanced skills in working with complexity, at individual, family and service levels, taking account of social, cultural, organisation and economic factors.
  5. Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and oral), liaison, negotiation and advocacy skills.
  6. Demonstrated skill in responding appropriately and promptly to child protection concerns.
  7. Demonstrated skills in working co-operatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary health care team environment.
  8. Demonstrated capacity to perform duties at a high professional standard.
