The Role

The purpose of this position is to provide reception and administrative support to staff, patients and visitors of the department of Aged &Extended Care Dermatology at St George Hospital. The successful applicant will have the ability to work independently and within a team environment, take initiative as necessary and liaise with internal staff and external referrers.

  1. Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with a positive attitude.
  2. Previous experience in an administrative role providing a range of front-line reception, administrative and clerical support services.
  3. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in responding to a range of enquiries and ability to determine the appropriate response in a complex environment.
  4. Excellent organisational and time management skills including high attention to detail, ability to prioritise workloads while meeting strict deadlines to ensure efficient clinics.
  5. Competency and accuracy in the use of information and communication technology, including Microsoft Office programs, with the ability to learn new programs readily.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take responsibility for role specific deadlines.
  7. Thorough understanding of patient and staff confidentiality.
  8. Previous experience using electronic patient administration systems (eg. eMR Outpatient Clinic Scheduler and iPM) and Medicare billing/PBRC or willingness to learn.
