About this role

 

This highly valued role is in the Ministry of Health’s, Workplace Relations Branch. The Branch plays a key role in supporting the NSW Health workforce in leading system wide industrial relations and implementing workplace relations policies.

 

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $125,693 - $138,510 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doing

 

As a The Senior Workplace Relations Advisor you will:

 

  • Provide high level strategic advice internally to senior management of the Ministry and externally to public health organisations on workplace relations issues. 

 

  • Manage the development of system-wide workplace relations policies regarding the terms and conditions of engagement of staff in NSW Health 

 

  • Negotiate industrial agreements and instruments with associations representing NSW Health staff 

 

  • Respond to requests from public health organisations for information on complex workplace issues and for advice on appropriate strategies to deal with staffing or workplace problems

 

 

 

About you 

 

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: 

 

  • Substantial experience in the provision of workplace relations advice in a complex environment 

 

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of industrial relations, and the application of industrial relations policies and legislation to employment situations, including in the public sector. 

 

  • The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment.

 

  • Knowledge of the environment and arrangements affecting the terms and conditions under which NSW Health staff are engaged and under which services are provided to patients in public hospitals
