About the Opportunity 
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced speech pathologist to join a supportive team providing high quality services to adult sub-acute inpatients and outpatients based at Camden Hospital as part of the wider Campbelltown/Camden Hospitals Speech Pathology team.

We require a senior clinician who is committed to improving patient outcomes and quality of life for an inpatient/outpatient rehabilitation caseload and palliative care patients in the community. For this role, you will have experience managing communication and swallowing disorders, including instrumental swallow assessments e.g. VFSS and/or FEES.

As a senior clinician, you will be responsible for coordinating services, providing supervision and training to staff and students, engaging collaboratively with specialist multidisciplinary teams and working on quality improvement projects. What You'll be Doing
Under the guidance of the Head of Department, you will be responsible for developing, leading, and managing the delivery of speech pathology services at Camden Hospital including subacute inpatient rehabilitation, adult outpatients, and community palliative care services. 

As a senior clinician, you will provide supportive clinical supervision to staff and students to ensure best possible outcomes for inpatient subacute rehabilitation, adult outpatient and palliative care caseloads. 

Flexibility to work across a range of subacute and acute inpatient and outpatient clinical streams and across sites to meet the needs of both the acute and subacute caseload is required.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.

 

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

 

 The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

  1. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  2. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.
  3. Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to EBP and experience implementing EBP into service planning and evaluation of service changes.
  6. Advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in managing adult hospital acute and subacute dysphagia and communication caseloads.
  7. Experience in the analysis and reporting on objective swallow studies such as VFSS & FEES.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
