Senior Social Worker

Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol – Bloomfield Campus

 

About the role
This position is a Senior Social Worker role within the Male Forensic Mental Health Team located on the Bloomfield Campus of Orange Health Service.  

The level 4 Social Worker will be expected to work closely with the medical, nursing, and allied health clinicians that work within the realms of the forensic services team. As well as providing support, guidance, and supervision to junior Social Work team members. You will also be supported to undertake professional development opportunities and be encouraged to take part in quality improvement projects. 

As a senior Social Worker, you will need to be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge and have a good understanding of the forensic mental health act. You will also need to have highly proficient interpersonal and negotiation skills. You will need to be able to complete assessments in a timely manner and support patients receiving all types of psychiatry treatment.  

You will also be expected to have broad knowledge and understanding of external service providers such as My aged Care, NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal and the NDIS
