- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia. Unconditional general registration or eligible for unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Evidence of completing two post graduate years experience as a medical officer within Australia with a demonstrated commitment to rural practice and rural communities.
- Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written skills and a sensitive approach to clear communication with patients, carers, other professionals and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent skills, judgement and expertise.
- Excellent team work, organisational, time management and problem solving skills.
- Evidence of ongoing participation in continuing medical education and professional development and a commitment to teaching.
- Demonstrated interest in rural general practice or a specialist career pathway in Paediatrics.
- Preparedness and ability to participate in a 24 hour / 7 day per week roster including weekends, evenings, nights and oncall.
