What you'll be doing
To provide effective Mental Health services to the patients while working under supervision, in order to develop basic knowledge in psychiatric practice, in a complex clinical environment under Older Persons Mental Health unit(K7A). The SRMO will provide general psychiatric care to patients under the supervision of a consultant psychiatrist and registrar under Older Persons Mental Health unit(K7A) with in western Sydney local health district.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Must have completed at least 2 Post Graduate Years in a Hospital with a minimum of 12 months experience working as a medical officer (not observer) in an Australian Public Hospital.
- Demonstrated experience in taking a comprehensive patient history, performing clinical examinations and accurately documenting treatment in the patients record.
- Able to make sound decisions in accordance with level of experience and awareness of limitations and the ability to learn independently from experience and improve clinical practice.
- Proven ability to treat colleagues and patients with respect in a culturally diverse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team to ensure the appropriate management of the patient.
- A professional attitude with flexibility in work role and NSW unrestricted driver’s license or eligible overseas/international driving license.
