- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Must have obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge and experience in general surgery/ head and neck surgery/surgical oncology
- Familiarity with the natural history and biological behaviour of melanoma, non- melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), thyroid cancer, sarcoma and malignancy of the head and neck.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence based best practice. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
