About Us
We are looking for a high performing Senior Policy Officer to join the Perinatal Child and Youth Mental Health team, Mental Health Branch, NSW Ministry of Health.
The Mental Health Branch is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating NSW Ministry of Health policy, strategy and program funding relating to mental health. The work of the Mental Health Branch is delivered in partnership with local health districts and specialty health networks, community managed organisations, research institutions and other partners.
About this role
You will be managing the ongoing establishment and evaluation of the NSW Statewide Safeguards program, a community-based service for children and adolescents (0-17 years) experiencing acute mental distress, and their support network. Safeguards Teams have a comprehensive assessment and care navigation focus, and provide targeted crisis intervention, if needed.
You will also be involved in the management and development of mental health policies and programs specifically focusing on perinatal, child, and youth mental health. This will involve engaging directly with local health districts, specialty health networks, and other stakeholders to ensure innovative program design and implementation.
Expressions of interest are being sought from NSW Government staff wishing to apply for this 11-month opportunity. To be eligible to apply for this role, you must be a permanent/ongoing employee or a temporary employee with at least 12 months consecutive service.
