What you'll be doing
This role delivers expert Nutrition and Dietetic care to paediatric and neonate patients at Blacktown and Mt Druitt Hospitals, while also supporting clinical quality and staff development. Your responsibilities will also include:
- Providing specialised nutrition care for infants and children
- Leading clinical improvement in paediatric dietetics
- Acting as a consultant to medical and allied teams
- Offering expert support and supervision to colleagues
- Assisting the Department Head with service delivery

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics, acceptable for membership of the Dietitians’ Association of Australia (DAA).
Selection Criteria:
- Eligible for full membership of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in the nutritional management of complex paediatric and neonate patients and up to date knowledge of dietetic practice.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
- Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and on call, if required.
