What you'll be doing

The Senior Improvement Lead - Mental Health Patient Safety Program will provide leadership for improvement within the directorate specifically regarding the NSW Mental Health Patient Safety - Least Restrictive Practice initiative as well as other NSW Mental Health Patient Safety Program priorities.

The position is responsible for applying expert skills, knowledge and experience of improvement methodology/science to investigate and facilitate solutions through supporting clinicians, clinical teams and the health system to improve quality and safety of care. The position will take a lead role in the Mental Health Patient Safety Program team in delivering and implementation of improvement methodology, tools, resources and initiatives for the Mental Health Patient Safety Program priorities and reporting on these to the Principal Lead Mental Health Patient Safety Program.

Remuneration: $141,974.00 - $169,151.00 per annum, plus superannuation

Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent; with extensive experience, knowledge and demonstrated achievements in mental health service improvement and evaluation.
  2. Demonstrated experience and application of improvement tools and the use of data for quality improvement.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all aspects of project and program management including, leading, planning, managing resources, developing, implementing and evaluating safety and quality programs in a State-wide or large-scale setting.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple and concurrent initiatives with conflicting milestones and deadlines.
  5. Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience developing effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders including liaising with and influencing stakeholders to adopt and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  6. Superior analytical skills including demonstrated ability conducting literature reviews and applying research; conducting data analysis and interpretation; preparing and presenting analysis and reports; and managing program risks and implications.
  7. High level verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience drafting complex written documents such as reports, briefs and advice for senior managers.
