What you'll be doing
In this role as a Genetic Counsellor role at Westmead Hospital you will be a specialty expert in inherited cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias. The role responsibilities also include:
- Supporting cardiology clinics at Westmead Hospital.
- Delivering educational presentations across the department.
- Contributing to research in the Complex Arrhythmia Program.
- Managing original research projects within cardiology.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualification: A non-nursing/non-medical discipline undergraduate degree, Post graduate qualification in genetic counselling Genetic Counselling Part 1 certification from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia.
- Registration: AHPRA
Selection Criteria:
- Post graduate qualification in Genetic Counselling or part 1 Certification in Genetic Counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA), or a Diploma or Masters in Genetic Counselling.
- Relevant doctoral or other equivalent qualification with extensive research experience or other relevant scholarly training.
- A strong track record of research output; published works and presentations at conferences and seminars.
- Experience in writing research funding applications. Named investigator on successful funding applications, or other equivalent scholarly activities.
- Demonstrated capacity for design and management of original research concepts.
- Demonstrated experience with human research ethics to ensure compliance with current National Statements and Guidelines.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experienced participant in both group and individual counselling supervision session.
